26 January 1950,a day of honour for every Indian, a day which marks the birth of the Indian democracy .
"A nation's culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people". - Mahatma Gandhi.
The 71st Republic Day was celebrated with great fervour at Dharma International School on 26.January. 2020. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
The event began at 9.00am with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the revered Managing Director Mr L.S Butola, Principal Dr Swati Anand and Manager Mr T.S Rawat followed by the National Anthem.
The series of speeches brought a sense of Patriotism in the hearts and minds of all present. The students of four houses sang patriotic songs to mark the occasion. The entire school courtyard was resplendent in the shades of tri colour.
At the end of the programme, Managing Director Mr. L.S Butola in his address highlighted the significance of the day and made the students aware that the future of their country lies in their hands. Hence they need to study well and inculcate good values in life which will help them to be good citizens of the country.
The Principal Dr.Swati Anand in her exhorted speech urged the students to do their best and feel proud to be Indian. Besides, she congratulated the students for showing active participation in the programme.
On the other hand Manager Mr T.S Rawat also shared his thoughts and encouraged students on this day. He also thanked everybody for their presence on this auspicious day.
The programme ended with the distribution of sweets.

" Magic Show by N.K Sharma "

Thursday ,13 Feb 2020 ,Saura Saroli, Thano Road, Raipur, Dehradun Magic is a performing art that entertains the audience through seemingly impossible feats conducted by the use of tricks, illusion, sleight of hand and well practice moves. It has been a source of curiosity and fascination for children.
To break the monotonous routine of work, D.I.S organized a magic show under the banner of Red Cross Society in the school premises on 12-02-20, Wednesday. The Red Cross Society is the voluntary humanitarian organization having a network of over 1100 branches throughout the country. The mission of the Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times. The society works in all the forms of humanitarian activities, providing relief in times of disasters, emergencies and promotes health and care of the people and communities.
The Magician Mr. N.K Sharma showed his magnificent and impressive skills in the show. The magic wand, the magic words, the spellbinding and the distinctive style of magician kept everybody astonished.
The magician performed various conjuring tricks on stage like joining of strips of clothes to make the Indian National Flag, took out many currency notes from an empty newspaper cone and milk from one of the student's ear were a few tricks to count which left the students astounded and mesmerized.The entire school campus was filled with laughter and happiness.
The humorous style of magician remained the students glued to the show until it ended. The show was a great success,the students and the teachers had a blast.
He also taught the students a few simple tricks.
At the end of the programme Principal, Dr. Swati Anand thanked Mr. N.K Sharma (magician) for making the morning cheerful and entertaining. She also praised the magician for his fanatical performances.

CHRISTMAS DAY

For Christmas is tradition time.

Traditions that recall the memories down the years, the sameness of them all.

D.I.S celebrated Christmas with great fervor and enthusiasm. The school was beautifully decorated.

The significance of the festival was explained to the students through the Christmas story. The entire school vibrated with the echoes of Christmas carols.

The festive spirit was witnessed among the school staff and students.

The endless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the students especially when Santa moved around distributing sweets to them.

 

SOCIAL SCIENCE AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION

“What we learn with pleasure we never forget”

Dharma International School organised one day Science and Social Science exhibition on December 23 Monday, with great enthusiasm at its premises. All the students from VI to IX participated in the exhibition.

To explore and encourage scientific and technological talent and creative thinking among students and inculcate in them a sense of pride in their talent was the main objective of conducting the exhibition.

The exhibition was held for the first time. Replicas of Science and Social Science were made by the students under the guidance of teachers.

Working models like dam, solar system wind-mill, J.C.B, air pollution, sound pollution, drip- irrigation, volcanic eruption, earth quake etc. were demonstrated by the students.

Students really worked hard on creativity and innovation. The team work of students was appreciated by the parents.

The principal Dr. Swati Anand in her address, exhorted the students to achieve excellence in the field of Science and technology.

By conducting such kind of activities in the school, students learn the value of research work, organizational skills and team work.

 

CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY

Wining doesn’t always mean being first. Winning means you’re doing better. Than you’re ever done before.

A certificate distribution ceremony of a two day (29 and 30 November 2019) sports meet was held at Dharma International School.

The position holders were felicitated with a certificate by the revered Principal Mam Dr. Swati Anand and Manager Sir Mr. T.S Rawat.

At the end of the program, respected Principal encouraged and exhorted the students to take interest in sports activities sincerely if they wanted to keep them stay fit and healthy.

Sports is a great example of team spirit, which every student should develop.

 

THANKS GIVING 2019 AND WELCOME 2020

The darkest night is often the bridge to the brightest tomorrow. Starting over can be challenging, but also it can be a great opportunity to do things differently.

Thanksgiving Day is one of the best time of the year where we remind ourselves of the many reasons to be grateful. It is a time to ponder upon the lessons we learnt through the year, and the happiness we spread.

So, to keep the above words alive D.I.S family organized thanks adieu party to 2019 and extended a warm welcome to 2020, at the school premises.

The lovely day started by welcoming the respected Principal Dr. Swati Anand, Managing Director Mr. L.K Singh Butola and Manager Mr. T.S Rawat with a bouquet as a token of respect and love.

The School campus was beautifully decorated with red and white balloons. Teachers enjoyed a lot, thanked and gave positive opinions about each other as well as presented gifts to each other.

The delicious lunch was organised by the school authorities for all the staff members. Everyone seemed to be very excited and happy to celebrate this day. The main purpose for the celebration was to look back at the memories of the year and look forward to another great year.

At the end of the program Principal Dr. Swati Anand and Managing Director Mr. L.K Singh Butola wished all the staff a Happy and a prosperous New Year ahead.The Principal also stated that apart from making new resolution we should once again renew our old promises to serve the institution with firm determination, dedication and devotion selflessly.

BASANT PACHAMI CELEBRATION

Basant panchami, is a festival that marks the preparation for the arrival of spring. This festival is usually celebrated in Magh, which is between the months of January and February. The day is also celebrated as Saraswati puja where people offer prayers to Goddess Saraswati, the epitome of learning and wisdom.

To celebrate this day a special assembly was held in the school campus on 30.1.2020.

The ceremony started with the lightening of lamp by respected Principal Dr. Swati Anand and Manager Mr. T.S Rawat. The whole school assembled together to worship Goddess Saraswati. The students sang the beautiful Saraswati Vandana and poems on this day.

Mrs. Pooja aswal spoke few lines about the importance of this day,  all the staff was dressed in cheerful yellow attire as yellow is the colour of happiness and optimum, it is the colour of sun shine, high energy, enthusiasm, hope, fun.  The school was beautifully decorated with yellow flowers.  The ambience was filled with jubilation. 

The Principal Dr. Swati Anand gave her blessings and wishes to all the students.  She encouraged the students to excel in the fields of studies, arts, crafts, sports, music and made the student understand the significance of Spring season, why it is called as the King of all the seasons.

Our Manager Mr. T S Rawat shared with the students the importance being punctual at work and enhance their capabilities to excel in various fields.    

Kite making activity was held in the school.  Beautiful kites were made by the students.  The students participated in the activity with great fervor and enthusiasm, their work was appreciated by the Principal.

" "CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION" "

Saturday ,07 Dec 2019 ,Saura Saroli, Thano Road, Raipur, Dehradun On 14 November, Thursday to mark the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated at D.I.S with full enthusiasm. The celebration began with a English and Hindi speech by teachers.

Manager of the school Mr. T.S Rawat and Principal Dr. Swati Anand addressed the children and encouraged them to broaden new horizon for them and work hard.

 To celebrate this day various sports activities such as Relay race, Pass-message race, Sack race, Three- legged race, Toffee-race, Banana race, Lemon-spoon race, frog race, Balloon race and Treasure-hunt were organized in the school campus.

All the students enthusiastically participated in all the activities. The students were served with the treat.

At the end of the celebration winning students were rewarded generously with the gifts by our respected Principal Dr.Swati Anand and revered Manager Mr. T.S Rawat.

" DIWALI CELEBRATION "

Tuesday ,05 Nov 2019 ,Saura Saroli, Thano Road, Raipur, Dehradun One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism. Diwali symbolises the spiritual  “ victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.”

 To make the students understand the importance of Diwali, D.I.S had a celebration in school on 24- October-2019.

The celebration began in the morning assembly where Ms. Poonam Gururani delivered a speech on ‘Diwali’ and it was followed by our respected Principal Dr. Swati Anand where she sensitize the students to have a safe and green Diwali.

Many activities were held in the school such as diyas painting, paper candle making, candle decoration, paper lanterns, and Inter-House Rangoli competition for the students.

The students of classes I to V actively participated in the diyas painting, candle decoration and paper lanterns with their teachers.

The students of classes VI to X participated in the inter house Rangoli competition. The students of all the four houses earnestly put efforts forward in their creativity Rangoli colours, flower petals and diyas were used to decorate and give wings to their ideas.

All the hard word and innovative work of the students was appreciated by our respected Managing Director Mr. Lakhpat singh Butola revered Principal Dr. Swati Anand and respected Manager Mr. T.S Rawat.

The Inter-House Rangoli Competition judging criteria was based on creativity, cleanliness and colour combination.

On 31 October 2019, Thursday National Unity Day was celebrated to  mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the school campus.

The programme began with the speech of Mrs.Priya Rawat where she highlighted the achievements and contribution made by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the country.

To observe the occasion, the oath ceremony was further conducted by the students along with school staff, Principal and Management.

At the end our revered manager Mr. T.S Rawat also spoke few words on this day and encourage the students to imbibe the values and principles of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

" Paper Bag Making "

Tuesday ,15 Oct 2019 ,Saura Saroli, Thano Road, Raipur, Dehradun To boost creative and intensive skills in the students of D.I.S, a newspaper bag making was organised on 21-September-2019, Saturday in the school campus. It was conducted with a view of bringing awareness and instilling the thought of restoring the environment.

Students of classes I to IX participated in this activity whereas our tiny tots of P.G to K.G participated with their teachers and enjoyed a lot.

Students showcased their creative and artistic skills by making beautiful paper bag .

The activity was done with a lot of enthusiasm and effort. All the work of the students was appreciated by our respected Principal Dr. Swati Anand where she told them to limit the use of single plastic and save environment.

" Gandhi Jayanti celebration "

Tuesday ,15 Oct 2019 ,Saura Saroli, Thano Road, Raipur, Dehradun On 1-October -2019, Tuesday Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in the school premises.

The programme began with the head girl Hindi speech ( Himani Sati – X ) and followed with  the  English speech of Mr. Abhishek Butola. Then,the group of students sang a song “ de di hume azadi bina khadak bina dhal” which enthralled the audience. 

At the end of the programme our respected Principal Dr. Swati Anand spoke few words to sensitise students about the role and contribution of Mahatma Gandhi. She also motivates students to inculcate the values and principles of Mahatma Gandhi into their life.

Our revered Manager Mr. T.S Rawat also spoke few words and encouraged students to follow the good work of Mahatma Gandhi and spread the message of peace and harmony and adopt the policy of non-violence and work for the welfare of the nation.

 

Dusshera celebration

Dusshera the festival to celebrate the victory of good over evil. It shows us the importance of truth and righteous. Further some, it makes us believe in the light at the end of the tunnel.

The special assembly was conducted on 4-October -2019, Friday in the school. It began with a speech of Mrs. Anshika Solanki where she presented on how we celebrate dusshera and the significance of this festival.

Independence Day Celebration

73rd Independence day was celebrated on 15-August -2019, Thursday in the school premises with great fervour and enthusiasm. The programme was started with unfurl of National flag and was followed by National Anthem. Our Manager Mr. T.S. Rawat delivered the speech to the students on this day and motivated students to work hard for their better future.    To imbibe and foster the spirit of patriotism among the students an Inter-House Dance Competition based on the theme ‘National Unity’ was organised in the school campus.  Students of classes VI to X participated and showcased their dancing skills. Through their performances they conveyed the message of peace, trust and harmony. The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performance. Students wore bright and colourful attires and enthralled the audiences with their moves and expressions. 

At the end of the programme our Principal Dr. Swati Anand appreciated the efforts put in by all the four houses and she  also spoke few lines on this day and encouraged the students to contribute in the progress of the Nation and be a good citizen of the society.  She also stressed “If a country is to be Nation of beautiful mind there are three societal members who can make a difference in child’s life, they are the father, the mother and the teacher”.   At the end, sweets were distributed among the students.

Janmasthami Celebration

The students of Dharma International School, Dehradun celebrated Janamasthami with great pomp and show on  22 August 2019, Thursday  in the school campus.

The little kids were very beautifully dressed up as Radha and Krishna to mark this day.

Students were informed about the incarnation of Lord Krishna on this occasion.

This was followed by a couple of group songs in which the tiny tots of pre- primary enjoyed a lot.

 

Rakhi Celebration

The little ones of Dharma International spent time in making ‘rakhis’ around the time of Raksha Bandhan on 14 August 2019, Wednesday.  To inculcate the meaning and importance of these traditions into the students school does all these activities.

Students made beautiful and fancy rakhis .Students were very excited and happy to participate in this activity. Students were also informed about the importance of raksha bandhan , the love and bond between the brother and sister and how the brother promised her sister to protect her from all evil and harm.  Our respected principal Mam Dr. Swati Anand and Sir T.S Rawat was part of the celebration and encouraged all the students with a few words.

INTER –HOUSE VOLLEY BALL MATCH

Keeping in view the holistic development of the students, an Inter-House Volley Ball match for seniors boys and girls were organised on Saturday, 20-July-2019 in the school.

First the match was started between Paramveer House  and Mahaveer House.  Both the teams were equally tough and talented. In first match,  Paramveer House had a fair lead of 1 point over  Mahaveer House.

The second match started between Ashoka House and Shaurya House. Both the teams gave equal competition to each other and Ashoka House had a fair lead of 6  points over Shaurya House.  Craze for sports among the students can be seen through this match. Respective houses cheered their teams during the match by loudly calling upon their names.

Finally, it was Paramveer House and Ashoka  House. Both the teams were filled with great energy. It was such a nail biting performance till the end of the match. But finally it was Ashoka House who bagged the first position.

 

FRUIT PARTY

With a motive to encourage and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits in regular diet, the little ones from P.G, Nursery, K.G classes celebrated Fruit Party in the school.

Tempting and colourful fresh fruits like apples , bananas, pomegranate and mangoes were cut and mixed together and gently served to the tiny tots by their loving teachers. Students were very happy and enjoyed the delicious and healthy party.

The classroom  were also decorated very beautifully  to attract the tiny tots for the same.

DRAWING COMPETITION

To know the importance of being creative and innovative in this competitive world, the school organised Drawing Competition on 27 April 2019, Saturday in the school campus.

The theme of the competition was ‘Save Environment’. Students of classes I to V participated with great zeal and fervour. The students showcased their talent in the best possible way.  

These competitions encourage them to think beyond, to express their views and explore their creativity through their imagination and art work.

 

CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION

Dharma International School organised a Hindi Calligraphy competition on 24 April 2019, Saturday to improve presentation skills and inculcate good handwriting among students.  

All the students of classes I to V participated with great interest. Such kind of  competitions  turn out to be very meaningful for the students since it not only improve their handwriting but also teach students about their different style of writing. 

D.I.S always promotes such competitions in the school for the overall development of the child.

 

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The ‘Investiture Ceremony ’of D.I.S for the academic session 2019-2020 was held with great enthusiasm and dignity in the school premises on 27 April 2019, Saturday. 

It was the occasion where the young students were all prepared to take up their leadership and discharge the responsibilities assigned to them by the school. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them feel of being an important and integral part of the administrative body, student’s council is formed every year.  

Following with the introduction, badges were given to the respective Council of Students by our Administrative Mr. T.S Rawat Sir and Principal Dr. Swati Anand Mam. 

Then, the Principal Mam administered the oath to the newly elected Council of Students. 

It was really a wonderful day for the students as well as for the school.

 

STORY WRITING COMPETITION

An Inter -House English creative story writing was organised in D.I.S, on 20 April 2019, Saturday wherein all students of classes VI to X participated. 

Students were given topic on the spot wherein they wrote a good story with a moral to it.  This competition gave students a platform to learn, how to express their ideas and views in different ways. Children participated earnestly in the competition. Their efforts and work was appreciated by one and all.

" Earth Day Celebration & Craft awareness programme "

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

            Tree plantation drive was organised by the school to mark the Earth day on Monday, 22 April 2019 in the school campus. The aim was to sensitize the students about the value of trees to save the mother earth.  Students from I to X classes participated in the event. The event was carried out with the speeches, poems conveying the message of keeping clean and in taking care of the mother earth. Trees saplings were planted together by our respected Principal Mam Dr. Swati Anand ,teachers and students.  All the students enthusiastically participated and took interest in planting the saplings. Students also pledged that they would take care of the saplings planted by them.  

 

CRAFT AWARENESS PROGRAMME

             Craft awareness programme was held in the school premises on Monday, 22 April 2019 to spread awareness about craft among the school children. Students from classes I to X attended the programme where the expert artist gave the live demonstration of his skills before the children and taught them basic tricks of making different paper items. It was intended to reinforce the message that hands on activities enhance the learning process.

Republic Day Celebration

26th January is a gala day for every Indian. On 26th Jan 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and our country India became the Republic. We celebrated our 71 Republic day with full fervour and gaiety on 26th Jan.2019 Saturday.

To inculcate the feeling and spirit of Nationalism among the students cultural programme was held in our school premises.

All the students were assembled on the school ground at 9:00 am. After sometime, our respected Managing Director Mr. Lakhpat Singh Butola, Manager Mr. Trilok Singh Rawat and our Principal Dr. Swati Anand unfurled the national flag. This was followed by our National Anthem. Then the series of speeches started. Our Principal Mam addressed the gathering. “She emphasized on the need for the active participation of students for the development of a Nation.”

M.D Sir also shared his thought with the students and told them about the importance of education in one’s life which leads to opening of many doors of opportunities in future. On the other hand, our coordinator Miss Rakhee Chauhan also expressed her ideas to mark this day.

 At the end of the programme Rawat Sir thanked everybody for their presence on this day. The programme was further ended with the distribution of sweets.

 

Workshop on Health and Hygiene

A short awareness programme on the personal hygiene was conducted by D.I.S on 02.March.2019, Saturday. This session was aimed to demonstrate the importance of maintaining good hygiene and illustrated the importance of comprehensive cleaning to maintain a good health and a better personality in a certain society. The speaker of the workshop Mrs. Suman Rawat aimed at educating the students about the concept and importance of health and hygiene among girls.

It was an interactive session where our Principal Dr. Swati Anand also emphasised on awareness, breaking social taboos related to physical changes at the adolescence age, along with the importance of nutritious diet. The lecture concluded on a positive note that students should inculcate healthy habits in their lifestyle.  

    

Annual Exams

Annual Exams 2019, PG to IX commencing from 8th March 2019.  Wishing Good Luck to all the students. 

 

Magic Show 

"A Magic show was organised by the Red Cross Society"on 25th Feb 2019, the show conveyed social message regarding the illeffects of smoking, black magic and female foeticide. The students enjoyed the show thoroughly,along with the staff of Dharma International School."
